I am working as a program assistant in the area of Gender Democracy and Human Rights. My main research project is concerned about migration and human trafficking using the example of Cambodia, where I am analysing how these two are interconnected. The paper I am writing in this context will furthermore shed the light on the reasons and drivers of how migration can turn into trafficking, considering the current economical and social situation in Cambodia and the problems that are still prevalent after the Khmer Rouge regime.
