Once again, the Heinrich Boell Stiftung Cambodia organized a 3 day seminar on “History, Conflict, Peace and Climate Change: Past and Present Challenges for Cambodia and ASEAN” last July 9-11, 2017 which took place at the Meta House, Phnom Penh. This seminar was also held last 2016 where Dr. Bernd Schaefer, a global fellow and former senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center Cold War International History Project lead the lecture and discussion. 

On 12th July 2018 the German Ambassador, Dr. Ingo Karsten, visited the Heinrich Böll Foundation hbs. Our head of office, Ali Al-Nasani, shared information about the current program of hbs. The discussion focussed on topics such as women's rights, minorities in Cambodia and on environmental protection. It was a fruitful exchange of views that will be continued in the future. This evening in the Demo Day – Youth Eco Labs at Impact Hub Phnom Penh, 7 groups of young collective Cambodians ultimately get a chance to present their business models behind the motive “Solve Cambodia’s Environmental Problem through Entrepreneurship and Innovations”.

Happy to learn from Khim Pisey about the new ideas on the Positive Parenting Program including ideas such as questioning gender roles, shedding light on alcohol abuse, providing financial training, talking about the difference between needs and wants. Glad to have such a strong and progressive partner organisation at our side.

Image credits In light of the International Women’s  Day, the Heinrich Boell Foundation Cambodia organized a talk titled “Doing Gender – Aspects of Gender and LGBTIQ Politics in Asia”.

The High-Level Segment saw representatives from regions across the world make remarks on the protection of LGBTI persons – from Argentina, to Malta, to Pakistan.
